About Metairie, LA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Metairie is a Jefferson Parish, Louisiana census-designated place, and it makes up a major portion of the New Orleans Metro Area. With a population of approximately 138,500, Metairie is the largest city in the parish. It is located in the eastern portion of Jefferson Parish and is bordered by New Orleans, Kenner, Lake Pontchartrain, and the Airline Highway. This city was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005 and suffered widespread flooding and wind damage. Several celebrities and public figures have come from Metairie, the most well-known of which is Academy Award winning actress Reese Witherspoon.

Metairie is home to a variety of attractions and fun things to do. There are several spas located in Metairie to give visitors a day or relaxation, including the Lovejoy Day Spa and Serenity Day Spa. Metairie is home to the minor league baseball team the New Orleans Zephyrs, who plays their games at local Zephyr field, and a training facility for the NFL’s New Orleans Saints is also located in Metairie. Likewise, this community is home to a variety of parks and outdoor spaces for families, including Lafreniere Park, Pontiff Playground, Johnny Bright Playground, and the Jim O’Ryan Playground.

The weather of Metairie is a part of a humid subtropical climate zone. Summers are often hot and muggy, with average high temperatures in July and August reaching the low-90s. For this reason, one of the first investments that Metairie residents will make in their new homes is an energy-efficient air conditioning system. It is also recommended that units are serviced annually to ensure that they are functioning properly when the hottest weather conditions move into the area.

Metairie residents enjoy short and mild winters, attracting many snow birds to the area. January is the coldest month, but average high temperatures still reach the low- to mid-60s, and average lows generally only fall to the mid-40s. However, these conditions can still lead to uncomfortable living environments, and a heat pump can be a useful appliance in keeping home interiors comfortable.
