About Slidell, LA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Slidell is a city located in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. It is found on the northeastern shore of Lake Pontchartrain and has a population of approximately 27,100 residents. This community serves as the global headquarters of Textron Marine and Land Systems, the military contractor and automotive manufacturer. Slidell is served by the St. Tammany Parish Public School System, and three public high schools are found within the city: Slidell High School, Salmen High School, and Northshore High School. The city suffered from extensive damage after the arrival of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, but it has gone on to recover and rebuild.

Slidell is home to several interesting attractions that may appeal to area visitors or residents. This is a great community for finding tours of local wildlife, including Honey Island Swamp Tours, Pearl River Eco Tours, and Cajun Encounters. Fishing enthusiasts will also have the chance to get out on the water with Big Outdoors Fishing Carters and Therapy Charters. Other notable area attractions include the Oak Harbor Golf Club, the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, the Slidell Little Theatre, and the Slidell Historic Antique District.

The climate of Slidell is part of a humid subtropical climate zone. Winters are generally mild and short, although conditions are slightly cooler than the Southshore portion of the New Orleans area. January is the coldest month, and average highs will still reach the low-60s. Precipitation is common during the winter, and it generally accompanies a cold front passage. When cold temperatures pass through the area, residents are relieved to have access to a home heating or furnace system.

Extreme weather conditions are most common during the summer. July and August are the hottest months of the year, and average high temperatures reach 91 degrees Fahrenheit. A reliable air conditioner is essential to keeping residents cool when the hottest conditions set in, and it can also help to improve indoor air quality, an important feature for allergy sufferers.
