There are several notable attractions located in and around Jefferson. Shopping is a popular pastime in Jefferson, as the Castay Shopping Center, the Jefferson Plaza Shopping Center, and the Azalea Gardens Shopping Center are all located within this modest community. Cycling enthusiasts may also enjoy a trip to Bicycle World of Louisiana before heading out to spend the day one of the area’s many trails. Jefferson residents will generally invest in both home heating and cooling systems so that they have climate controls in place regardless of the season. In the summer, air conditioners will get a major workout, as high temperatures will reach the 90s. High humidity will generally make it feel even warmer and more uncomfortable, and an efficient air conditioner can help to keep indoor conditions comfortable while improving the quality of circulating air. On the other hand, winter weather tends to be calmer, with mild temperatures and a short season. Cold snaps do occasionally push through the area and nighttime lows can reach the freezing point, so a heat pump or furnace will be a necessity to maintaining a comfortable indoor living environment.
